    ROSE HAVEN.

ROSE HAVEN. Searching for a unique romantic getaway? Does a spa treatment beside the river where hippos bath at dusk surrounded by a farm that grows high quality tea roses and macadamia nuts sound unique enough?

This 100-hectare valley in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa is 10km away from the renowned Kruger National Park and includes a lodge, spa, and orgranic restaurant.

Why not have a gourmet dinner and a rose quartz steam shower before you retreat to your tented suite underneath a canopy of Jackalberry and Tambotie trees?

Let 11.7 book your reservation at Summerfields Rose Retreat and help you plan your day trips in the vicinity, such as tree canopy aerial walks or game drives.

    THE HONEYMOONERS.

THE HONEYMOONERS. For a couple who had a safari-theme engagement party at the Denver Zoo, going to South Africa for their honeymoon seemed appropriate. They spent a couple of weeks on safari and then moved on to spend a week around the Cape. Here's a review the new bride posted on LinkedIn.

"Jen put together our three week trip to South Africa this past fall. The itinerary she created was perfect and each destination was very special. We did not know where we wanted to go and feel very grateful that Jen was able to discern our travel wants and needs with very little information that we provided. I highly recommend Jen for your Africa travel needs. Our vacation far exceeded our expectations. Top Qualities: Great Results, High Integrity, Creative."

11.7 was honored to be able to put together an itinerary for such an important occasion. Here's to a happy life together and many adventures ahead.

    MAPUNGUBWE.

MAPUNGUBWE. This place is special to me. I visited Mapungubwe back in 2007 while they were just refashioning tourism in the region. It's not mainstream for South Africa and really shouldn't be; nonetheless it has something that everyone should see. There is a beauty, peace and sense of history in Mapungubwe that should be experienced for years to come. I'd be extremly saddened to see its conservation fall away to coal mining. For more information visit the Save Mapungubwe webpage.
